Minnechaug Regional High School’s Above the Influence Club Receives “You Have Our adMIRAtion” Award!
Minnechaug Regional High School and students from its Above the Influence Club went well above and beyond in their support to MIraVista Behavioral Health Center. In what has become an annual event, hundreds of new and gently worn items of clothing were recently delivered by the bag, box and box truck! Coats, sweaters, warm woolen socks, and comfortable sweatshirts just to name a few.
According to Kimberley Lee, MiraVista’s Chief of Creative Strategy and Development, “There are times when individuals arriving at MIraVista for mental health or substance use treatment have little to no personal belongings. Because of the students’ kindness, MiraVista now has many additional clothing items on hand when and if needed. And with temperatures as cold as they’ve been, this donation could not have come at a better time.”
On Monday, March 20th representatives from MiraVista Behavioral Health Center presented the Club and its dozens of students with the organization’s “You Have Our adMIRAtion award!”
The Above the Influence (ATI) Club is a community-building organization that builds lasting relationships among students, staff and community members in order to help students stay above negative pressures, particularly drugs and alcohol.
